Asia Fashion Summit (AFS), a premier business conference for the Asian world returned bigger and better this year in Singapore with more than 350 fashion practitioners and professionals from Singapore and Asia in attendance.

The success of the summit was the result of the strategically developed topics based on the theme 'Rise of Asian Consumerism' that captured 360-degree view of global and Asia issues impacting the fashion industry. The roster of handpicked fashion leaders as speakers that TaFf brought in from key fashion cities like New York, London, Hong Kong and Shanghai presented the most relevant discussions, their latest ideas and best practices to the audience.

Day-One of the Summit focused on "Reaching Tomorrow's Fashion Consumer", with topics centering on consumer insight and consumer experience. Day-Two "New Fashion Media" mirrored current happening in the industry globally, and discussed new concept and practices to reach consumer in a more creative and 'immediate' ways than in the past. Day-Three "Business of Fashion" addressed critical issues that impact the efficiency of the supply chain of the fashion business. Five skilled-based workshops, featuring application of ideas by industry experts held on 20 May were well received by participants.

Asia Fashion Summit gathered a global set of speakers and audience members from all parts of the retail value chain thus enabling a very rich exchange of ideas and knowledge. It was also a wonderful way to better understand the dynamics of the Asian market.

We received positive feedback that the 2nd Asia Fashion Summit delivered its promise of providing superior contents and new insights on critical fashion issues and solutions. Many delegates met valuable business contacts which we hope will result in future collaboration. We are delighted that most were engaged and inspired by the expert speakers, and this gives us a challenge of making 2012 summit equally if not more successful.

Chris Koh
 Honorary President, TaFf

We would like to comment that it is a very well organised event. In additional, the content of the event is extremely valuable for our takeaway and applicable to our job in one way or another. We sincerely hope that you can anniversarise it the following year and hopefully able to allow more time for those session that I believe you already have received numerous compliments on the topics. Once again, a job very well done and we look forward to the following year's Asia Fashion Summit.

One of the things that the west where I’m originally from is not really understanding is how powerful India and China are and I think being in Singapore is a great hub to understand how things work. With the line up of speakers we’ve had so far, I think that’s proven its point.
